Jennifer first joined the Board of Directors at Seniors’ Resource Center (SRC) in 2003 and served until 2008. In 2014, Jennifer returned to the board, continuing her service to this very important organization. She shares SRC’s passion to enhance the independence, dignity and quality of life for seniors and the disabled in our community. Prior to becoming an attorney, she was a caregiver for her grandmother who had Alzheimer’s Disease. She also worked as a professional caregiver, providing care in a community boarding home for residents with dementia.
Over 20 years ago, Jennifer became an attorney and has dedicated her legal practice to elder law, estate and trust law, disability law and probate law. In her work, she has gained a great perspective by litigating cases of elder abuse, financial exploitation and incapacity. Her credentials include a Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Law in Elder Law (LLM), and a Masters of Arts (MA) in political science, focused on law and public policy with an emphasis on aging. Jennifer is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, having created the Elder Law curriculum in 2005. She frequently lectures and published articles. In addition, she is a founding member and President of the Colorado Guardianship Association, a nonprofit serving guardians and fiduciaries.
