From The Canyon Courier, “Longtime Seniors’ Resource Center head Zabawa retiring”:
“John Zabawa can recall a time many years ago when he went before Jeffco’s county commissioners to urge preparation for a growing population of seniors.
“I felt like I was Paul Revere sounding the alarm,” Zabawa said. “The seniors are coming! The seniors are coming!”
Since that day Zabawa, the longtime head of the Seniors’ Resource Center, has continued to be a driving force for the aging population in Jeffco and beyond, helping to develop and expand the SRC in its mission to provide services to help seniors live independently for as long as possible.
But after more than 35 years of service, the SRC’s longtime president and CEO announced Tuesday that he will be stepping down in July.”
